THEATRE IN JUNE

JO ANN KAPLAN will perform with the Lemon Bay Playhouse of Englewood in June, in “Grace and Glorie,” a beautiful two- person dramedy investigating end-of-life issues in both poignant and humorous ways.  Because of the demands of the play with 16 performances, there are two casts. The following dates are when you can see Jo Ann in the role of Grace (a feisty 90-year-old Virginia country woman), all times at 7:30 pm—Wed. June 4 (opening night); Friday, June 6; Thursday, June 12; Saturday, June 14; Wednesday, June 18; Friday, June 20; and Saturday, June 21.  If you’d like to catch a matinee, instead, you can also see JoAnn on Sunday, June 8, at 2:00 pm.  Tickets and additional information are available online at LemonBayPlayhouse.com or by calling the box office (10 am – 2:00 pm weekdays) at (941) 475 - 6756.

CONTINUING

Thanks to LEE HALL, our Facebook page continues!  She created it and diligently maintains it for us! (Thank you, Lee!) We welcome you to Like or Follow us at Venice Musicale on FB, and to tell your friends about us!!  Lee has published her first book of poetry, Thirty-Six Poems That Rhyme and Five That Don’t. This book is different because almost every poem has a watercolor drawing that goes with it—paintings by her friend, Ruthie Gipe. Her book in the “Writers at Work” category was a winner in the Florida Writers Association Collection Contest 2019. For more information, contact Lee at .

MIRIAM NIGHTINGALE continues to enjoy Karaoke at several of the places around town that offer that joyful singing opportunity--Carney's on Monday nights; Allegro Cafe on Wednesdays; the Venice Moose Lodge offers it on Wednesday; Venice VFW on Thursdays; and, Englewood Moose, on Sundays. Moose lodges are private clubs, so if you'd like to go with Miriam (who is a member!), contact her for more specifics at and join in the fun!
