Venice Musicale, Inc (VM) recognizes that when you choose to provide us with personal information, you trust us to treat it responsibly.
This policy explains the types of information we collect and how it is used.
Information we collect from the scholarship program:
- from students: name, email, password, home address, mailing address, phone, birth date, grade, school, voice part and/or instrument, music groups in which student performs, bio
- from parents: name, email, address, phone
- from recommending music teachers: name, email, phone, school, recommendation
- for auditions: use of scholarship (private lessons, summer music camp, college tuition), contact name for instructor, camp, college program, contact address, contact email, contact phone, picture of student, musical piece to be played including title and composer, accompanist's name, if any, and email, if applicable, summaries of judges
- from scholarship award winners: name of the recipient, name of the scholarship awarded, amount, title of the award, YouTube video of scholarship concert performance, photo. Unless specifically requested by the parent and/or student not to do so, it is the policy of VM to make public the names of the award winners along with their photo, their student bio and title of award,
All scholarship information collected, unless specifically stated, will remain private and will not be shared with any outside individual/entity. Such information is also restricted to only certain members of VM (members of the Scholarship Committee and designated members of the Board of Directors).
Third parties who will have access to this information: Florida Flair Web and Graphic Design for the sole purposes of VM website maintenance and repair.
Parents/Guardians have full authority to request the data for minors below the age of 13 to be stricken from our electronic records by emailing such a request to .
Information we collect from donors:
- name, address, email, phone, alternative address (if applicable), amount donated, date of donation, designation of donation (named funds vs. general fund), credit/debit card data if the donations are made through the web- site, check or reference number of the donation.
Donors will be added to an email list used for publicity of future VM performances. The ability to unsubscribe to these emails will always be provided. Email addresses will be kept confidential. All donor information is private and, unless specifically stated, will not be shared with any outside individual or entity . Such information is also restricted to only certain members of VM (Treasurer, members of the Finance Committee and designated members of the Board of Directors).
Data transmitted to third parties: PayPal for payment purposes. Third parties who will have access to this information: Florida Flair Web and Graphic Design for the sole purposes of VM website maintenance and repair.
Information we collect from members and applicant members:
- name, address, neighborhood, email, phone, alternative address (if applicable), cell phone, year joined, type of membership, voice part and/or instrument played, debit/credit card data for members paying dues through the web site.
Membership information is private and, unless specifically stated, will not be shared with any outside individual or entity. Except for financial data, this information will be available to all members in a directory.

Retention & changes:
Information collected will be retained by VM for as long as necessary for the sole purpose for which it was collected. Membership information will be retained and archived as appropriate.
